- MADE BY HUTCH
Interior Designer, Sales & Relationship Activator, Community
Influencer & Public Speaker
Effortlessly transitioning from commercial clients, residential house calls interviews with local press, vendor meetings, and charming customers on the showroom floor, Nick is a quintessential people-person, and the beloved face of hutch. In his signature patterned, brightly colored ensembles, he can most frequently be found b-bopping throughout the store with a cheery disposition and an enthusiasm that just won't quit. Nick wears many hats at hutch, but most recently his focus is on spearheading hutch’s new commercial division, working with local businesses to provide design solutions for their office and public spaces. His extensive professional background in advertising and customer sales and marketing, coupled with a life-long affinity for unearthing vintage treasures propelled him to launch hutch with Brandon. When not at hutch, Nick loves to spend nights-in cooking (notoriously making enough to feed a family of twenty). Most comfortable in motion he loves exploring local Omaha haunts and frequenting thrift stores, occasionally not washing before wearing, so beware. A creature of habit, he's been known to eat the same meal everyday for an extended period of time – ahem, Summer of Crunch Wrap Supremes.
Brand Architect & Graphic Designer
As the driving creative force behind hutch, Brandon is most frequently the man behind the computer screen – alone, utter silence, no distractions, (it's how he works best!) – making the magic happen. Responsible for everything from logo design to conceptualizing and executing elaborate window installations, his passion for design runs deep. Growing up in Middle-of-Nowhere-Nebraska, he attributes much of his design influence to his creative home life – his mom's craft projects always strewn across the kitchen table, and his dad (a taxidermist) inventing elaborate animal nature scenes. Eventually he made his way to Omaha, graduated from The Creative Center, and after an 11-year stint as a graphic designer in the corporate world, took his biggest creative leap, starting hutch with Nick. In his free time, when not working on hutch projects, he's probably thinking about hutch, and then later, most-likely dreaming about hutch. But occasionally he does blast some Sleigh Bells, frequent estate sales, and indulge in the re-watching of Forensic Files (of which he's seen every episode at least 5 times...).
General Manager, Event Coordinator & Director of Visual Merchandising
Brimming with charisma in her trademark caftans, Teri is hutch’s spirited General Manager and head of visual merchandising. Her experience, gleaned from a 16-year career running several major retail locations, helped to shape hutch from the very beginning. Day-to-day staff and managerial responsibilities fall under Teri’s jurisdiction as well as all visual merchandising direction. Ceaselessly creating imaginative accessory vignettes, Teri consistently makes those barnwood shelves the stuff of Pinterest dreams. She’s also in charge of conceptualizing, planning, and hosting hutch's monthly workshops. And oh yeah, did someone say, hutchFEST?? Teri was and is integral in facilitating that behemoth! In her free time, Teri enjoys hanging with family (10 siblings mean lots of nieces and nephews and tons of family time!). She also loves watching baseball – intent on visiting every MLB stadium at least once – as well as traveling frequently to watch her niece play softball competitively.
Lead Interior Designer
Influencer & Public Speaker
Effervescent and affable Bryan is the best friend everyone needs. His affinity for design – attributed to 90s decorating shows on the TV and a tool-wielding contractor Father at home – led him to pursue an Interior Design degree. A passion for historic preservation (plus general infatuation with all things old) is his design M.O. At hutch you can find Bryan winsomely assisting customers on the sales floor. He’s also the force behind hutch’s complementary in-home design consultations – aiding customers in space-planning and selecting the best furniture, art, and accessories to make their home sing! When not at hutch you can find Bryan filling his home with vintage tchotchkes or prepping for his next big fête. In love with throwing a good party, he, with his partner Luca, have a reputation for hosting elaborate soirées. He’s also the proud owner of a covetable cocktail glassware collection – you’re all, of course, cordially invited to swing by and enjoy.
Lead Product/Lifestyle Photographer, Product Fulfillment Manager
Born in Omaha but raised in Seattle, Emma recently left her pacific northwestern homeland in pursuit of an illustrious midwestern adventure. She's a freelance fashion and portrait photographer with a self-professed insane coffee addiction – kindly insisting you try an iced 16oz., 3 shot, Coconut Americano with extra ice, no water, topped with cream. After harboring a long distance Instagram love for @hutchmodern, Emma immediately reached out to Nick, landing her position at hutch just two days after arriving in Omaha. She is primarily responsible for hutch’s Instagram content and curation, as well as shooting all hutch marketing and branding photography (including making her fellow co-workers look fabulous in their bio photos). Outside of hutch, Emma manages her photo business (which, as a driven-beyond-her-youth entrepreneur, she's been running since the age of twelve!). She also obviously loves coffee shops, and strangely enough, love, Love, LOVES dirt track racing.
Our Newest Team Member
A professional Interior Designer with a buoyant personality and charisma that shines, Jerome is the newest addition to the hutch team! With over 18 years experience in the furniture retail industry, the man knows his stuff. While fond of many design aesthetics, MCM holds his heart, and he’s ceaselessly inspired by the work of contemporary American artist Josh Agle, aka Shag.
From assisting clients at the hutch showroom to creating and executing imaginative and cohesive design plans for their homes or commercial spaces, Jerome does it all – often bedecked in his signature patterned blazers.
Outside of hutch, Jerome loves to cook, but especially, to bake – trying out new recipes, the more laborious the better! He’s also a self-professed neat freak (…not like Howard Hughes, he assures, but close) and in general, can’t sit still for a minute with the urge to always be Creating! Making! Doing! as his driving force.
